Galletto2 Clone - problems with software

Postby Rocket » Thu Aug 09, 2012 5:25 pm

Hi all,

I have a Galletto2 clone, and when trying to read a Tricore ECU 1966, for the VW GTI 2.0 TSI, the error message comes up and will not allow me to read the file - anyone had this problem before??

Seems you have bad voltage, do not flash ecu with bad voltage - never ever.
You always need spare battery or good battery charger. Also voltage deviations are problems.
You need constant voltage over 12V all the time. At your case it seems you have 11.7.

This could solve your problem.

Thanks ECUEDIT - now I have a huge problem! The ECU won't start the engine!! Please advise what to do now?? Keep in mind that I was not able to read the original file - is it possible to rewrite the file onto the ecu? Or is this ecu useless now?

No I never - I was trying to read the original file when I encountered the error I posted - I was not able to read anything from the ecu - any idea how to solve this problem? In my mind I believe that I need the original file for this ecu so that I can reload this onto the ecu and retry starting the engine- will this be possible?

If you only read the file...and didnt write it.
You can try waiting an hour before restarting the engine.
I know some have a 30 minute lockout I think.

I dont think you could have done any damage reading :?: :?
The original ecu map should still be there if you only read

1st thing you normally do is get the ecu info before reading or writing.
Was this successful ?
Did it give the the ecu and software type along with existing checksum.

No - I couldn't get that far ... This is what I was trying to do - surely this information is still on the ecu? Can it still be retrieved?

I would be surprised if you have lost the map then.
I would think its still there.
1. So either you are simply locked out the ecu for a while.
2. The battery is flat or a fuse is blow.
3. The galletto has bad wiring and fused the ecu.

Have you tried running an obdII code reader on it to see whats going on ?
Are you getting any life at all ?

Oik I have connected the ecu back into the car - tried to start the engine - no go
Then I took out the ecu to check the little pad soldered the boot wire onto next to the tricore processor - all fine
Then I connected ecu back into the car - no go
I then plugged the VAG into the obd port - it throws so many errors!!! The engine light comes on and the fans runs at one hell of a speed

This is a tricore ecu - cannot access the file through obd - I have mpps, BDM, Galletto2, powergate master, and so far no go..

What to do?
