2-step/anti-lag on common rail diesel?

Postby jursi » Tue Mar 06, 2018 12:03 am

Hey!
Just out of curiosity ive been wondering if antilag/2step revlimiter could be done on common rail diesel engine with edc15c6? Ive seen people done it on vag diesels but never on mercedes diesel. I know on petrol cars you retard timing of the ignition to spark the gas later on stroke to keep turbo spooled because petrol is igniting in header but how about diesels when we dont have spark to advance or retard, only compression pressure. Is it possible to retard the iq timing and make a map to bounce between certain iq on certain rpm's at say speed of 0-3mph?

Greetings from finland!
