I've been told that every file is compitable if HW and SW numbers matches.
I have a 525d E60 to do today, from tune to original. Tuning made somewere else, so I don't have the ori file of his car.
I have an original file of it in stock, if the HW/SW matches I know it in the afternoon, but it's from an automatic trans and the car is a Manal transmission. Someone told me that every file has manual and Automatic trans maps, so Could I use the automatic trans file for a manual trans vehicle?
Thanks in advance...
Depends on the ecu but most have both auto & manual maps already inside, if the HW & SW match then you should be ok to flash,
but always compare the files to check, never blindly flash maps

Thanks for info mate...
Yesterday something "weird" or I was a fool maybe....
Had an 525D that allready was tuned somewhere else, to put it back to original becasu a lo of smoke after 3000rpm, A LOT!!
I performed a read and searhed for an original with his Sw number, I got files of a 530d after search...
I asked it to the guy were I purchase my files, and said that probaly he got an 530d file cloned with a tune??
He sended me an original of it, when I trried to perform Writing, I got a message like "No match Key N" or something like that.
Tried it 3 times, then my tuner said leave it don't touch it and send him to the guy who allready tuned it.
So I did, but feeling me bad that I couldn't help him..
Is it really possible like my tuner said that he had a "cloned file...
PS. He had 0 power in 6th gear also :s
