Alfa 156 2.4 175hp checksum error

Postby MoleUK » Fri Feb 22, 2013 5:37 pm

Hello,
I have just paid for my new car, an alfa 156 2.4 jtd which is the 175hp model with 20v.

I have motor control system failure with fault code p0601.

The car was remapped 2 years ago, but I have no information about that.

The error will not clear with scantool, but the car runs great with no limp home mode, but it is smokey.

The ECU is EDC16C8, HW 0281010988, SW 1037372042.

Any ideas how to clear this error?

Thanks :)

I am more worried about smoking, Remapped car HAS to be smoke free...if there is smoke, you have crap remap.

when running on diagnostics software, actual air quantity is almost double the value of desired air quantity, I have tried a brand new air flow sensor, and also with air flow sensor unplugged.

I need to check EGR valve operation, but I eventually want to turn EGR off in software.

I have had the file checked by a good fiat/alfa remapper and they have said the file isn't great, but it wouldn't cause problems, especially the checksum problem, so could be something else
