Alfa 159 EDC16C39 Read BDM or OBD

Postby user202 » Sun Jan 13, 2019 12:44 am

Hi all,

In the near future I would like to read and modify an Alfa Romeo 159 1.9 JTDM 150 EDC16C39

My question is that which tool I need to use to read and write?

Is it a right way to read through OBD or just by BDM?

I have a Kess V2 and I don't know is it reliable to read and write via OBD.
I read that some case can be lost the the injector codes?

Thank you :)

With Kline as I think.
Is this method okay for Opel Vectra also? (the same ECU as I know EDC16C39)

If you are not shure if your tool will work as it should , then it is better to read first FULL BACKUP by BDM and then you can experiment with OBD, so if something goes wrong you can still save the ECU and a lot of nerves and time.

Yes, maybe you are right.
In the meantime the BDM 100 arrived, I need to test it with this ECU and after I able to write it in OBDII.

Does anybody has experience how much time does the BDM 100 readout taken? ECD16C39 Vectra or ALFA ?

Thanks the opinions I'm very appriciate these. :)
