Alright guys,

This is my first post, as I've just remapped my friends car - and was suprised how easy it was!

I have a couple of questions!

1) What's the best software for reading / backing up the .Bin file from the ECU? or is this different for every manufacturer?

2) Do the later VAG cars have different elements you can change? as I've seen people selling Launch control, Popcorn limiters, Warm start fixes, etc etc.

there are several tools that can be used. i guess it all comes down to personal choice and budget. i do not fully understand your question about other elements. there are allot of different ecu's and they all work different. there are several custom coding you can do. like mapswitching ect.

Person choice/budget? I would opt for minimum cost during learning right now.

You mean different ECU's are used for the same engine codes? if so is this dependant on the trim level?
