Beginner questions

Postby robert98 » Thu Sep 20, 2018 1:20 pm

If I have 2 bmw e60 2.0D 163HP, one is stock, and one has DPF off , EGR off and something like 190HP, if i read the tuned one and compare the files from tunned with the stock one, and just modify what is different in maps between them, is enough ? And then obviously remove the DPF. Will the "stock" have the hp that the tunned one has?
Sorry if is a stupid question, I' ve never tunned a car and it's better to start with mine! :D :D :D

But, why? for example if I modify the drivers wish map, egr, torque, svbl, boost and smoke map exactly like what values he has, why it will be bad if we have exactly same engine?

Hi Robert

As I see it, IF you have the exact same car and ECU, then I think you will end up with similar power(not 100% same ofc.). Just make sure the checksum is correct and your car is in good condition.

But I think you should read a bit more though, because there's a high chance that you need to make some changes, so that it runs perfect on your car too.

Best of luck :)
