Bench or Obd which one

Hello
I don't understand why people disassemble the ecu and read it on the bench when they can read it with OBD. Why should I read a Marelli ecu with bench?

on bench use other protocol sometimes to full read*obd sometime only part read*

On some cars only partial read can be made from OBD, for full read they need bootmode on bench

Example: Sirius32 ECU (OBD 32k, BDM 256k)
