Hy guys,
as it is my very first ECU tune i have done would like to hear some criticism about my tune regardless it would be good or bad.
but lets start with my tune.
as TDI PD with ARL engine code is fairly the same i used maps of that engine as basis. Did change DW, torque limiter, MAF limiter, EGR map flat out i.e to highest values, start IQ map change to prevent hot start issues if starter becomes a bit worn, and a bit requested boost map change.
about start IQ map i wanted to ask about the change of RMP axis i did - is it right that it is recommended to change 0 rpm descriptor to 50 rpm to save a bit dual mass flywheel from torgue stress at start up? i did change it to 50rpm minimum when there will be fuel injection started.
EGR map values changed to max(850mg/str) and vac line off from valve...so far no DTC codes but does anybody know the single value adress for EGR on/off for that ECU as i would like to do it proper way?
In the torque limiter changed IQ higher from 1900rpm and did smooth out the end drop so it should hold a bit longer slightly higher torgue as well lowered slightly IQ below 1700rpm as there is no need for that much torgue at low rpm as i want some extra power for motorways where higher rpm s are used to accelerate.
In smoke limiter changed IQ higher at higher higher airflow values to make shure that IQ allowed by torque limiter will be injected for shure so there should be that expected extra power gained.allso worked out the AFR ratios and as some of them where below 17:1 at lower revs at low air flows i changed those to aim 17,5:1 to 19:1 by the way it could see some slight smoke buffs when did WOT at low RPM s, right now it seems to be smokeless(just some slight haze when WOT in night time through headlights when there is one driving behind me)
only change i did with boost maps was in the requested boost map...did change last x axis descriptor(IQ) value from 50 to 55...as far as i have read that should give a bit better controle over the boost at higher IQ as i request more....is that right?
everything else is the same. SOI maps are all the same as ARL engine has as injectors are the same as well no need to touch duration maps. Have not done yet
dont hesitate to give me any opinion. hope someone here knows about those ecus and can give me advice. allso would be really thankful if someone knows where i could find the EGR switch?
