Check this out....

Postby rlees85 » Mon Sep 03, 2012 10:05 pm

In this topic, I raised my rail pressure:
rate-my-rail-pressure-map-t292

Whilst having an enthusiastic drive on a long journey I noticed a very distinct 'dip' in power at 3,000 RPM.

Now look at the rail pressure map:
Rail Pressure (again).png

You can see at EXACTLY 3000 RPM at high IQ it is over 1350 BAR, this is the point it is entering "new" territory and hitting pressures of nearly 1400 BAR.

Now check this out!!!! I just noticed this whilst trying to extend the axis on my Injection Duration map!
Weird Injection Duration (stock).png

Look at the bottom three/four lines. You can see that:

1100 - > 1200 bar : Slight reduction in duration
1200 - > 1300 bar : again slight reduction in duration
1300 - > 1400 bar : LARGE reduction in duration!

I think this is the cause of my misfire. Why is this map like this? Has Peugeot just made an awful job of this map? Should I try to recalculate the 1400 BAR line?...!

Perhaps its a way of limiting the load on the pump.

I suggest you first make a log and record your screen when that happens. Repeat your error few times and log parameters 1 and 2.
Than post logs, there is an answer. ;)

I will do some logs.

From the logging I have been doing I can tell you:

IQ is being limited by the torque limiter.
Air Flow is around 1100 mg.
Turbo/Requested Turbo are bang on the same, all good.
Rail Pressure is fine.
IAT is 4c above ambient, again, spot on.
Injector corrections are not good on injector 1 but I dont think this is the cause.

I am sure that 1400 bar line is not right.

Your problem is not here. When we see the log I can tell you more, send me or post your original and mode that I can compare.

I have put the old map back on now and the problem has gone away. The value at IQ 70 Rail Pressure 1400 is clearly wrong IMO and this is exactly when the misfire was occuring (full throttle, IQ very close to 70 (confirmed in pp2000), Rail Pressure 1380 (confirmed PP2000))

If any other cars have the same injectors as the 2.2 hdi I would be very interested in looking at their maps to compare

Still can not confirm until i see the logs and bin,
this is probably not only thing you changed.

I am pretty sure the problem is somewhere else :)

thanks for your help again though. but forget this topic for now. when i do some motorway driving next i will be sure to take some logs, and i will make a separate topic to get peoples thoughts.

i just wanted to check this duration map was all fine

thanks

hi there,
Make a log from 2500 to 3500 that it can be visible when you loose power.

Because you changed more maps, the whole bin
has to be checked.

You have to look this as an organism not like piece by piece...

How does your TL look like, maybe you are hitting into fuel temp limiter,
or other limiter, the duration map can not cause the troubles you are facing in this situation.

Are your requests above TL and TL under fuel temp limiters and so on... ;)
Even if you change the last value in rail axis and leave the data, you wont notice difference...I do not say it is right, but to show you how it works and to get feeling about changing maps and "getting them on the road".

Still can not advise you correctly without the logs and files or main maps pictures or list of changed things :)

As mentioned I will do some logging.

I just want to make clear that I am not that advanced at all. I have not changed any IQ limiters/IQ. The map in question is exactly as you put it "to make a change and get it on the road" and the only things changed were rail limiters and rail pressure.

After this conversation I feel my car probably as a sensor fault rather than a map fault. I will still do logs and upload them as if anyone on the forum can help identify the fault that would be awesome ;)

The Fuel temperature was about 42 in PP2000 so that isn't limiting IQ.
