Citroen Xsara Picasso 1.6hdi 92 hp 2008 edc16c34

Postby Zaccyboy » Sat Sep 27, 2014 10:10 pm

My latest economy map where I have altered the boost(lowered), N75 values, egr off, Lambda, boost limiter (temp).
I have attached my map and xdf as I use tunerpro.

What do people think?

I haven't looked at the v01 yet, but the EGR off.....
The boost maps are massively changed? why not just keep them to < 2000-2500 rpm to lower boost?
The N75 do you know which is which? selector?
And the lambda map has increased all over so will allow a richer mix.

Have you tested this? how does it drive?

I have driven today around 30 miles from Ammanford to Maesteg up the M4. Drives really well to be honest no problems at all.

I have changed the lambda so it is smoother than oem map. The boost has been lowered up to 2500rpm as 70mph is around 2250 rpm when cruising.

Thing is with the lambda if it is set too high then more air is needed to maintain the power so less air = same power.

Do you have tunerpro scoppack as if you download it for free you can use my xdf and map to look at with the definitions.

Just looking now. Theres a couple of temp maps I don't have, flat but useful to have, cheers!
your axis are the wrong way on N75 1

I'm doing things slightly differently, so i'll get my latest on the car in the next few days to test and let you know how it goes.
What sort of mpg are you getting now, from what you had?

Hi Scoppack,

Yes they are wrong way around well spotted lol! I have now corrected them.

I filled up today, I have only put the map on last night so too early to tell.

With the modified map I put on originally (v5 with advanced timing, lambda, boost and egr off) I have achieved 57mpg (660.5 miles/ 52.12 x 4.54 = 57.5 mpg), With map as stock with egr on I was getting a max of 53mpg so an improvement of 4 miles per Gallon.

I will now test this map over a tank full.

It drove real nice today over a 60 mile round trip, M4 and a road driving.

Would I be able to see your map maybe, along with an xdf if you have tunerpro?

Cheers

Ian

I use winols, but i'll try to put a pack together for you.
On stock I was getting 57mpg (207, with fairly light footed driving with traffic lights in 30 zones for 3 miles at start and finish, with a 50 zone for 5 miles in the middle). I'm now getting 61 mpg, but with the changes I've made this weekend I'm aiming for 65 after fine tuning. If I can make a steady 60 with mixed driving (read as overtaking!) I'd be very happy.
And it still goes like stink if I plant the pedal, but affects the mpg considerably)

How were the SOI changes? Are you hoping to achieve the same results without touching them?

OK, scratch those figures. I've been going off the trip computer that I thought was quite accurate.
I usually fill when the light is on, and it takes 49l, and get around 550 miles to the tank.
At the last fill it had done 595, so its better, but still way off yours and what I thought I was getting.

LOL! Don't worry mate, I always work it out manually as my trip computer always reads way over, it did in my Honda too.

According to your figures 595/49*4.54 = 55.12 mpg......Not bad at all mate!

My theory is that lower boost = lower egt = better mpg.

I may be wrong though, if I am please somebody correct me!

I have not touched the fuel figures as I am not after power, just economy as I have two kids and they cost enough lol!

Just trying to save a few pounds here and there = more holidays in the Sun!

Is your map with egr off?

I find the car drives much better with egr off.
