Diagnostic Technician wants to go further

Postby Simon » Sun Oct 09, 2016 6:39 am

Hello,

first, thanks to the mod for accepting my registration! I started my my apprenticeship as a mechanic with a specialisation in diagnostics 11 years ago. Since then I have always been working in fault finding and diagnostics on cars and trucks. Basically, I have been working on the whole electrical / electronic system up to a ECU. There has never been a opportunity to work on a electronic control unit to fix hardware issues or to modify the ECU content. In most times I have been working in dealerships, so there has never been a need to repair or modify electronic control units.

I completed my registration to change that. I want to get a solid understanding how certain maps work, how they are related to each other and how a change in one map affects other maps. It´s a big goal, i know. But I have to start somehow.

I had the chance to get a second hand original WinOls with original BDM100 for a resonable amount of money. I spend countless nights watching videos about winols and chiptuning, absorbing every bit of information I could get, but i still have some questions, of course :)

I am very exited to join this forum, ask some questions and contribute in every way i can.

Thanks guys!
Simon
