Apologies if this is a very newbie post.

I'd like to delete EGR from my Peugeot 207 1.4HDi (EDC16 ECU).

I gather I need BDM100 interface, some soldering to the ECU PCB and WinOLS software.

Is this something that I could do myself or is it something that I would have to pay a specialist to do?

All you need is an MPPS cable and read the car by it's OBD2 port,
then post the file here for modifying then upload it back to your car.

Do you mean read it with WinOLS Demo version?

Does WinOLS Demo version allow you to correct the checksum and write the file back to the ECU?

Is this system reliable or could it fail and damage the ECU?

No, that's not what I said, you read with a MPPS cable then it saves it to a file... post that file here, we modify it then you re-upload it to your car with MPPS again...

We don't talk about CLONE tools, but yes something like that.
A real tool is much better but if you only want it for one car then that'll work

Thanks - yes just for my 207 1.4HDi which has been a massive money pit since I bought it in March. It now has a sticky EGR valve, so just need to get it fixed as cheaply as possible and it seems to me that an EGR delete is the best option.

This is an easy job, your ECU will be an EDC16C34 and I can edit it for you no problem :)
Get a cable, also put a battery charger on the car to stabilise the voltage and also use mains power for your laptop/computer.
Then upload the file here ;)
