Hi guys,

Bit of a noobish question here, I've had a quick search around, haven't found much info.
Basically, I have a couple of VAG EDC15's, the one in my car currently, and I have another from a friend's car that he's scrapped.
I've taken the ECU and immo off'd it.

My question is, does it have to be exact matching numbers for me to flash a map on it that was made for another EDC15?

I've spoken to a couple of people in the industry, one of them says Yes, the other says, as long as the immo's been defeated, I should be able to flash a map on from any HW and SW number onto it as long as I do a full flash.

Can I get some opinions on this please? Don't want to try and flash a mismatching map on and end up with a bricked ecu.
