My name is Jeoffrey, I really love car mechanics and I'm a technology enthousiast (my job was IT Administrator).
I'm quite good in mechanics (maintenance and performance parts by myself), but totally new in the world of car electronics.

Recently, I bought a USB <-> ODB2 cable (INPA/NCS Expert compatible K+DCAN) to do some usefull fonctions coding in my car (prepared Mini Cooper S R53 2005 170bhp).
Now I'm looking to fine tune the ECU (Siemens EMS2 I believe) to achieve a goal of 210bhp-230bhp, and if I learn fast maybe tune other family and friends cars : Ford Mondeo II 2.0 TDCI 130 Ghia (brother's), Golf 5 2.0TDI 8V 136 (or 140) 2006 GT Sport FAP (wife's), Audi TT Quattro 1.8 225 cab (don't know year, mother's), Chevrolet Corvette C5 2000 V8 345 6 speed manual (dad's)
So I don't think to buy Bytetronik FA53 (+700€) even if it's a great tool (and I know a R53 magician who already own it), but I will train first with a more universal products like MPPS cause I already have some files (v12, v13.02, v16, Damos, WinOLS 2.24)

This is in standby cause I have no time and money to spend on that for now.
Yes I know, there are MPPS clone cable on eBay for just 9,99€, but before consider chip tuning, I need to buy and mount others parts, otherwise the gain will be weak :
- smaller supercharger pulley (-17% or -18%)
- Innovate AFR probe
- bigger fuel injectors (550cc BOSH)
- (Thumper ported head TPR-2 or Lohen)
- (CatCams or Schrick or Newmann Cam or NitroStick camshaft)

I already have :
- Airtec replica bigger intercooler
- Janspeed manifold + hi-flow cat
- Milltek cat-back exhaust
- NGK BKR7EIX colder spark plugs (not mounted, will be with the reduced pulley)
- Dave.f style intake airbox (with UNI foam filter UP-6300AST)
- ...

For the last months, I have only spent my time on several maintenances (clim condenser, lambda sensor, automatic gearbox flush, broken exterior mirrors, silentbloc, ...) and just one upgrade (USB/jack audio interface)
For Christmas and next months, 4 new lightweight rims (summer set), JCW brakes (= R56 cooper S = 294mm = very cheap), 4 Bilstein B6 dampers.
Chip tuning learning, after that. So I can't give you advices now.
