Hello from Latvia

Hello everyone, i would like to introduce myself to the hood. People call me Vit.
Currently in process of restoring facelifted e46 (184hp M57D30 engine) to it's former glory. Took my time to run different test and diagnostics. CR system and turbocharger showed to be in quite good shape. Injectors are flowing right amounts of fuel according to BOSCH test rig. HP pump's wear is well within tolerance and as in case with injectors, passed test rig examination. Turbocharger blows as intended. Compression is good and cylinder adaptations are all withing 0.10 mg/hub limits.
Made some preventative maintenance for a drivetrain and engine (oil, filters, breather, gaskets, seals, some sensors, wiring etc).
Had it remapped by some local diesel virtuozo. Based on diagnostics result he suggested an "aggressive" remap (i just know the basics of how DDE operates and can't say how severe were the map alterations).
Remapper claimed that on "healthy" engine like mine, car must be in a 260bhp/650nm range. Don't want to jump the gun and the car became much more prone to wheelspin, but 650nm of torque just doesn't sound right and that has brought me here. I wish to gain and share my knowledge of engine management's inner workings and perhaps cook some remap myself.
