Help needed to edit Bosch Med 9.1 map

Postby wayne73 » Fri Jan 28, 2022 3:10 pm

Hi Members

I need assistance, I have a modded Golf 5 GTI (TFSI) DSG with the following mods and a custom map by a local tuner.

1. GT30 Turbo AR .63 (Chinese)
2. External waste gate with 1bar spring with Manual Boost Tap (1.3 bar boost)
3. S3 injectors
4. Upgraded HPFP (Vortex Tuning internals)
5. Upgraded intercooler
6. Water meth kit

*Stock internals

The car seems to be very sluggish after the mods and custom remap installed. I actually battle to get away from a stock Golf 5 GTI and that's embarrassing for the amount of money I spent for this exercise.

I was told by the last guy who looked at my map that it's a bad stage 1 map with stock fueling and too much boost (2.2bar) on the file. Can someone take a look at these files and tell me how bad off it is or if someone can help edit it to decent values will highly be appreciated. Right now I'm stuck financially and can't afford another tune but own a Kess to download the file.
You do not have permissions to view the files yet. You have to be registered and you have to make at least 3 quality / unique posts.

Thanks Panos, is it possible for me to run the stock file with these mods - or is it not advisable? Reason is I can't afford a tune at the moment.

Noted. I would appreciate any positive feedback even if it's not to edit the file but to assist me in doing it by myself. I have winols installed and have a stock ecu map but don't know much to continue from there and that's why I decided to join the forum to learn and get guidance from others.

If u run stock file car will not work prorerly...why dont u ask your tuner to make a proper file for your set up? i think u paid him for this reason....

Honestly I am afraid to approach him regarding this. He is a well known tuner in the area and has tuned many cars some that have done good track times and have had good results. I am afraid to explain how I went about finding out that the map is bad for the car as I am not well experienced regarding tuning and he might tell me to go elsewhere to get it tuned since I feel his work isn't good enough. If you think there is a way we can screenshot the specific maps of concern maybe I can send this to him and have him explain why he has edited the values in this manner? Or is there a way I can prove to him that this map can harm my car?
