help with freelander td4 110hp upgrade to 136hp

Postby simontemplar » Sun Jan 27, 2013 11:27 pm

Hi everyone.

I'm totally new to remapping so will need some advice before I decide to go ahead w learning process.

As the title says, I have a freelander td4 that could do better with extra overtaking power [only 110hp for 1550kg of car when empty].
I have full working winols 2.24, ecm2k1 6.3 and some older winols 1.7 w damos files for the software part.
I was wondering if will be a good starting point to study the maps from mg-zt CDTi [135hp] and BMW 320d [136hp] so I can get a basic ideea of any limitations of the engine [like IQ, max rail pressure, max boost a.o.]since bmw, mg and the freelander share the same engine and similar turbos[ only freelander and bmw have variable geometry].
I have ori files for zt and 320d_136 and using ecm for now to study them.
Is this a good approach or should I start again, but different way?
Also which will be the essential maps to chase in winols for a basic tuning...nothing extreme.

Thanks in advance.
