How Galletto, KWP OBD Flash works?

Hi everyone!
I would like understand what comunication standard, what command, what rules software like Galletto 1260, KWP2000 use for.
I have read one book about XCP and CCP protocol, and I wonder what if I will have dumb K-Line,KKL interface and I would like use it to manually download flash and eeprom from EDC15C3.

Do I need read any document about K-Line protocol standard? Or to understand it, it will be good idea disassembler Galletto software?
