How power supply to USB ELM327

As we know the ELM327 is powered by 12V through pin 16, I just wonder how a USB ELM327 be powered by plug into a computer?

First go to "Introduce Yourself" then give a little more detail to what you are trying to do.

Just use an auxiliary 12volt power supply

I did hook up a 12V to pin16 and a GND to pin4, nothing happened, my pc and iphone can't find it's signal by blue tooth even.
Should install any driver for it?

Just plug it in the car, it'll be looking for a K-Line signal to generate the Bluetooth
