How to remove immo and key adaptation

Immo off on a Peugeot Boxer 2.0 HDi (EDC15C7)

Postby MattForum » Wed May 22, 2013 6:57 pm

Hi all,

My Boxer has triggered the immo for some weird reason. Thus I'd like to remove it as it will never happen again. :-)

The car is a 2.0 HDi from 2004, with what I identify as being an EDC15C7 ECU.
Because my time is quite a precious resource, I'd like to be sure of what I have to do.
After browsing the web, some questions are still remaining and I hope you can help :
- On this type of ECU, on which part shall be performed the immo off (Flash only, EEPROM only, or both) ?
- Am I true that immobox has not to be modified ?
- In case Flash reprog is needed, could you advise on efficient and affordable tools (HW & SW) ?

Thanks in advance for your help.
Feel free to ask if more information is needed. ;-)

See you. :-)

Hi

The immo is in the flash - 29F400. Only there. I recommend UPA USB or OMEGA programmers. Also there is X Prog M ( cheap chinese clone! ) which could do the job, but better do not have trust in it.

Hello,

Now I'm clear about what I have to do. :-)
Am I right if I guess that with both of programmers you mentioned, I have to unsolder the Flash to dump and reprog it, then solder it back ? Or do these programmers allow in-circuit read & write ?

Thanks for your help.

BR.

Well. Thanks for advice.
I saw tools like Galletto 1260 or KWP 2000+ that could allow dumping and reprogramming the ECU Flash through the OBD2 plug.
Do you think it can be worth trying it ?
I can always desolder the Flash if this method fails. :-)

Thanks for help.

Regards.

Hi

You could try with the flashers. But I`m "old school" guy, and prefer to desolder and use external programmer :)

Hi,

Ok. I think I'll try first a flasher. I'll keep you updated about my experiences. :-)

By the way Yoshimura, what method do you use to desolder such (relatively) big components ?
Would hot air blower do the job ?

Thanks for advice. :-)

Hi

Yes, hot air rework station and soldering past is perfect for the job. And they are not very expensive.
