in a bit of a pickle

Postby cosmicma » Mon Nov 25, 2019 11:43 am

i had a local firm re map my 2010 jaguar x type the other day and they have made a mess of it
the car is completely unresponsive below 2,250 RPM and then takes off but in reality i don't think it's actually making more power
now the lad who came to remap the car is being very elusive having tried twice the get the new map right and now no sign of him

when he first re mapped the car i asked him for the original map which he gave me
the remap was done with a Kess box and the original map file was backed up with it

can somebody have a look at the backup file and verify it is what it is supposed to be
with the messing about this guy is doing i'm not sure what he's give me and worst case i can use it to have a proper map put on my car

he's supposed to be coming back and putting the original map back on the car but keeps not turning up

i know this is a big ask with it being my first post but i'm running out of options and can't move forward until i know what the file is

thanks to anybody willing to help

to add to this the re mapper turned up today and put the original map back on the car so everything is back to normal but i'm still curious what file he gave me

i think i'm sorted to get the car mapped properly by the same guy who mapped my civic back in 2015 so not too bad of an ending :)
