ISTA – No Communication. Hi everyone

Postby Rupert77 » Fri Jul 05, 2024 4:16 am

I am new to the forums and was wondering if anyone could help me with what appears to be a communication issue. Thanks in advance!

Vehicle: BMW x5 E53 - 2003.
I asked ISTA if they could troubleshoot why the towing, ABS, brake lights, and check engine light are on. The ABS module was rebuilt 4 months ago.

Items checked: ISTA communication settings are enabled (COM1).
Com 1 settings: Delay = 1, Speed - 115200. Fuse #2 and #52 (diagnostic connector) are good. K-DCAN – Tested. ODB2 – Connected. I have verified that pin 8 is connected and verified that it is properly connected to the k+DCAN cable. INPA appears to be able to read the engine. ISAT is unable to identify the vehicle or read the module.

ISTA reports: Unable to successfully identify the vehicle. Checking the vehicle interface and "PAD Activation". Unable to determine chassis number from the vehicle. Not sure what to check next. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated, thanks again.
