Loud Rev Limiter (popcorn)

Postby ambrosio.motorsport » Fri Jun 23, 2017 2:24 am

Hello guys, i want to start this topic because there is some questions that i have and some information that i want you guys to share with me.

how to make a nice and loud popcorn rev limiter?
already changed the SRVL on a edc15 and edc16u1 to 4800rpm, and some improvement was noticed, but, still get that 1rpm gap popcorn sound to soft. i've done multiple testes changing SOI, duration and IQ. did not passed 40º of duration with 75mg of IQ yet, but before that i would like to have your opinion first.

is there any "trick" to make it bang loud when hit the rev limiter?
does it have to run lean or rich afr at that point?
duration must pass the 40º?
SOI retarded?
EOI?
Axys change?
N75?
etc...

of course it depends what turbo, exhaust piping and nozzles.

this is what i want to achieve

On bosch, as in this case, it is not advisable to cut the torque limiter and IQ but it is necessary to find the real rev limiter that is present on all software management
