Mercedes EDC16CP31 DTC off : How to do it ?

Postby Willo54me » Mon May 20, 2024 8:26 pm

Hello everyone, I'm currently searching a way to delete some DTC on EDC16CP31 mercedes ECU for Om642 engine for diverse applications.

I use the 642 damos to find the maps needed :

By searching the fault code displayed on Xentry/Star diag I found :

"Kundenspezifischer Fehlercode fuer Fehlerpfad Dfp_..." map, that is the map name of the DTC number used by Mercedes.

By copying the name of the map Dfp_... I can find the map "CARB spezifischer Fehlercode fuer Fehlerpfad Dfp_..." that contains the corresponding Bosch DTC number.

Knowing the name of the related maps, I can search the map that contains the fault path, "Fehlerklasse fuer Fehlerpfad Dfp_..." and then change the value of the path to 0.

For example : I read on Xentry 2601-002 Air mass meter sensor, The air mass is too low.

Then I search 2601 on the winols. This is hexadecimal number, in 8 bits.

I find the map that contains the 2601 specific Mercedes number : "Kundenspezifischer Fehlercode fuer Fehlerpfad Dfp_AFSCD_SRCCorrAirmB2"

By copying "Dfp_AFSCD_SRCCorrAirmB2", I find the map : "Fehlerklasse fuer Fehlerpfad Dfp_AFSCD_SRCCorrAirmB2" That contains the value 4.

I set this map to 0. Then I suppose the job is done. But the DTC is still here.

From my understanding and how it's made for VAG application, it's the way to do things. But unfortunately, it did not worked, and the DTC I wanted to remove are still presents.

What am I doing wrong ? Can someone have the knowledge to explain me the proper way to do things ?
