Hello, I am new to ecu repair but i have some experciene in repairing other pcb,s.
I offered to help a colleague of my, his old ECU had some water damage but no isue with the immo and the car would still run although intermittent it would run very rough. So he bought a used ECU not knowing it would also need the dashboard to match.
With this ecu it should work with a 5 digit PIN code to rematch the IMMO (inside the dashboard) with the engine ecu.
VAG group wont give this code anymore (according to ross-tech) and vcds cant read it so i tried different software to read the eeprom by the OBD port but couldnt get any to work (driver issues mainly). I kept looking for other solutions.
Than i found a guy on a Russian blog who had the exact same issue and he let someone swap the EEPROM and the flash of the old ecu onto the new one.

I now have done the exact same thing but I still get a flashing key and car shutting of after 3 second running. I have No idea why i believe it should work....but it doesn't :wtf: . Maybe someone can confirm that this should work or whether more IC's have to be swapped ??
There are no shorts between any of the pins and the polarity is correct (It looks like shorts because of white from a marker pen).
I will read codes tomorow with vcds and i will post them here.
The ecu type is siemens 5wp4883
the car is a 2000 europese SEAT ibiza 1.6
Any help is very appreciated
