I am new to the understanding of this witchcraft and have several questions which I have not been able to find anywhere.

I've gained a vague understanding of parallel ECU installs, with the stock ECU running alongside an aftermarket ECU to allow all functions of the car to operate but still giving the aftermarket ECU control of the engine. I assume that is the correct definition of a parallel install?

This brings me around to modern direct injection cars. I am unable to find any info on aftermarket direct injectors, say if you wanted to turbo a direct injection car etc, any thing that would require larger injectors, you simply can't get bigger injectors like you can with standard port injection.

What options are there to get more fuel into a direct injection car? Could an aftermarket ECU perhaps take control of the standard injectors but perhaps also have some added injectors in the intake or something to deliver more fuel?
