Opel vectra 1.9cdti dth 110kw first steps

Postby wdariusw » Tue Jul 04, 2017 12:10 pm

Hello. Trying to make my first steps in chiptuning world. My car is opel vectra 2006 year, 1.9cdti 110kw, with DPF , ecu bosch edc16c9.

My file:
opel_edc16c9_full.Bin

So, readed my file using MPPS V16. Trying to find and understand maps before editing it. What i want to hev in final result :
1)EGR off
2)DPF off
3)More power
4)Launch control
5)Hardcut limiter (maybe...)

Starting from first one. Because this is edc16, so as i know EGR can be turned off using 4 25x1 hysteresis and turn off DTC + mechanical blanking. It is correct hysteresis in the picture ? I need to make red lines to 0, right ? Also, found DTC table, i need to zero DTC switches where is 0400 fault code (found 5 of them) ?

Maybe. And everything need to do is to set that hysteresis and disable P0400 fault switch ? And I know what real egr map means, but what is egr hysteresis ? Why they are 4 ?

Yesterday i managed to turn off EGR completely (also did mechanical blanking). No fault codes now.

#STEP 1 - DONE :)

But still... What is meaning of egr hysteresis ? EDC16 also have normal egr map as EDC15. Anyone ?

if you set hysterezis value to 0, egr it is closed, is no need to put a blanking plate. Egr map exists, if you need to modify egr rate. you can modify this map: Start the engine, at idle, detach egr electrical connector and monitors maf value( it will increase), and this is maximal value that you can write in egr map without error( for idle!)

Ok, so if i fill egr map with maximum possible value, egr should be closed (such as edc15 egr map), but this solution is bad for edc16, why ? EGR hysteresis are like egr switches or what? Why the are 4 ? I think that egr blanking plate is needed, when egr is stuck, and you do not know in what position. Maybe egr can be stuck in open position, then blanking plates helps. Or just need to clean it.

EGR blanking plate is for good measure.
I always put one, as the EGR can get stuck open. I have had the issue a couple of times.

Then you have no power under 2500RPM.

However I have red that the EGR could be used as a "safety valve" opening in case of over pressurizing of the turbo.
Any one has any comment on this?

As I said, I managed to turn off EGR completely. Now next step - DPF removing. Opcom record shows :

Diesel Particle Filter Saturation - 42%
Differential Pressure Diesel Particulate Filter - about 1V (@4000RPM, 5th gear) . Idle about 0.5V.\Differential Pressure Diesel Particulate Filter - 0kPa idle, maximum 12 kPa @3800RPM .

Can we say that DPF is a reason of very low power of my car ?

dont touch egr maps,or the car dont go ok,leave it stock, your ecu has got an egr switch turn it to 0 in 8 bit mode and you can unplugg it without error code
