EDC15P Immo compatibility

How to remove immo and key adaptation

EDC15P Immo compatibility

Postby ThunderFox » Mon Apr 08, 2013 10:15 pm

Hello!

I have an EDC15P unit off a VW Polo 1.4 TDI which recently failed while flashing a new tune.

I have yet to try some stuff to recover it, but just in case I can't, can I get an ECU from the scrapyard with the same Part No. and flash the ROM off the other onto it? Or will I need to defeat the immo somehow?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards.

As i`ve read on other topic, if it`s EDC 15 with 3 plugs, immo information is stored into flash (29F400BB), else is stored into separate chip, so you can just desolder that chip from your broken ECU and solder into working ECU.

Thanks for the input, but I guess that won't work. This ECU has a 29F400BT and another chip for the immo. Only way to do it with another one is to solder or defeat the immo.

I wonder how one defeats the immo though!

Ok, so in you case is easy. Move your IMMO chip from one ECU to another and should be plug&play if is same engine code.
Or make it virgin with IMMO Killer or other tool like that.

You can also use VAG Tacho interface to program IMMO of some of the ECUs.

There weren't any. There weren't even supposed to be any, I think.

Have you got ori file to ecu (read direct from eprom/flash not from k-line)? And need you a workable dump to eeprom too

No, I have a K-Line dump. It shouldn't be any different from a flash dump!
