Can some one give me a hint here.

I'm trying to understad relation of maps for SOI, SOI limit and injection duration tuning my own ecu on a 2.0 TDI BKD Golf DSG.

Concerning SOE limit, dont know about golf. For my EDC16 Vectra there is separate SOE limiting map with data 30deg BTDC for all IQ and RPM. This mean that pre-injection can not start b4 30deg. So if you advance SOE to 30deg there will be NO pre-injection (for vectra c 1.9dth).


Start of Energising of Pilot Injections
The structure of SOE calculation is nearly identical between PiI1 and PiI2. The difference can be found in their base. PiI1is calculated relative to SOE of MI of the last injection cycle, while PII2 is calculated relative to PiI1 of the same cycle. The calculation is based on some limits that must not be exceeded in a running system.
Pilot injections are always calculated relative to main injection, but their earliest SOE InjCrv_phiPiIMax_C is implicated relative to TDC.

Simple view: Drivers wish requests an Injection Quantity. Various limiters will limit this Injection quantity. ECU turns quantity into a Duration value. So duration is really the amount of fuel over a given time. SOI is when duration starts. This has two components. First it is when duration needs to start to get duration finished near TDC. Second is SOI advance to give a timing advance. When changing SOI you need to think why you are doing it. Are you extending duration or are you advancing duration.
Most ecu contain maps to limit what SOI can do.

This maps are not duration maps, but another set of SOI maps, still not clear how and when they work. Maybe SPORT mode related.

Axis of this selector is ºBTDC, factor is same as duration and soi. ;)

You still have missing Duration 5 map, is the next to Duration 4, but is not 15x19. ;)

Indeed my car has dsg with Sport mode, but i dont see on other maps (driversWish) anything that i could relate to the S mode.
So i doubt this other SOI maps are Sport mode related.
Could it be instead safe mode?...
