2.0TDI PD140 BPW Flashing problem...

Postby rowly747 » Thu Feb 20, 2014 2:11 pm

I've managed to read the opriginal file from a 2006 A4 Quattro PD140 with the BPW engine and EDC16U31. But the problem is that it won't flash back to the car.

First time round it got to 50% flashing then instantly went to 100% completed. SO I tried the car and no difference in power at all.
The second time round straight after the calculating checksum message in MPPS v12 it said complete again and finished but car is no different. I did a checksum correction using winols rather than letting the tool do the correction, so I know at least this bit is OK.

So what is going on. What is the solution to this problem?

I have read on other forums that people have had issues with this ECU, but in this car and BDM is necessary but I do not have this tool, just MPPS v12.

I've also read but not tried yet that IMMO OFF needs to be done and or try hooking up a battery charger to ensure voltage stays above 12.5v the whole flash and remove engine fan fuse.

And just like to clarify that yes the file is definitely modified.

Follow the link: audi-a4q-2-0tdi-pd140-03g906016km-edc16u31-t5205 to the original file so can someone clarify that i have the correct file size 2mb and is complete for this car.

Thanks

Maybe you don't have changed enough limiter maps and you can't feel the difference.
Buy a bdm you never know what can happen with these clone tools.
If checksum is wrong car won't start :)

I have not missed a limiter and even if i did i would still feel a difference but non at all hence why i know there is a problem.
Checksum is fine also.
I have been given different tuning software for my tool so will try that and report back.

Does it require a dash fuse to be removed as on EDC15 VAG cars?

I will be trying soon the different software, hooking up a battery charger to maintain a voltage above 12.5v, pulling the dash and or engine fan fuse, and if all that fails also trying to immo off the vehicle and or as Ive read else where try leaving the ignition on for 20-30 mins sometimes the ecu will then grant you to access past the security.

write tuning in ecu.

After that, readout ecu again and compare with the tuning file..

Voltage must not exceed 13v, when you have suddenly jump from 50 to 100%. try to access ecu with vcds and read and clear errors even if there is no one. cycle ign off on and then try mpps again.
