Postby pizdun45 » Sat Jul 12, 2014 6:55 pm

Hello guys!

I'm new in chip tuning world and I got a lot of questions :)
Some answers I found, but when forum get big like this it is hard to find them all :)
Can someone explain to me what are checksums and how can u change them, and why do you need to change them?

Cheers!

Hi, another noob question...
if i read a ecu and Change any numbers the checksum have to be corected. Does that mean that for example winols change some other numbers too corect the checksum. Or is the checksum not on the Part/File I have read/ changed? :?:
I hope u understand My question

If the ecu is supported by winols, modifying the bin file ,winols will automatically recalculate the checksum, if the checksum icon is red you need a checksum corrector

Some tools seem to check checksums too, the galletto 1260 does but I wouldn't rely on it as a first line of defence

If You have checksums for that ecu version in winols, than winols will calculate it automaticly.
Today most tools for writing (not all) corrects checksums.
