Another one thing that i've noticed and saw these days on a guy directly on dyno.
Blocked EGR, improved airflow.
He advanced injection to 3.7 BTDC on dyno has 180 hp and 240 NM.
He retarded to 3.7 ATDC(negative), power was 186 hp and 280 NM torque.
Impressive, depite to all opinions that advanced timing makes more power. Yes , for petrol cars its true, but for turbo diesel the timing is very important.
Less timing(especially where EGR was in part load) , means less vanes angle to build boost , well less EMP(exhaust manifold pressure).
Too much EMP affects the power, economy and quality of combustion.
On my car i preffer to kep SOI stock after blocking EGR, better pedal response.
Current settings that i have after blocking EGR: See photos with N75 and Boost..i lowered N75 with around 10-14 units(15%) and lowered boost to the same value as around 1500 rpm. Dont lower too much boost under 1750 because car will be sluggish
