I have searched the dump of my car (308 hdi / EDC17c10) for the VIN number string, but cant find it. Is the VIN code somewhere hidden in the dump and I just have to search a bit more? If yes, what are the usual ways to find it / where and how is it hidden?

what file did you read flash or eeprom ?

often the vin in psa ecu's is encoded perhaps there is only a pin resulting of the vin coded inside ...
i go check in one of my projects

Vin code is in the BSI. Because when I was teaching a new edc17 ecu last year, then I did not have to enter the vin code.
