Hello guys,
I have another question to put to the most knowledge people, in rate my tune someone pulled my "ears" about the way i was requesting boost. That was good, because i look into compressor maps and how to use them.
Now i understand them, know their importance on the way i tune my car.
The question goes now, where can i find compressor maps that Garrett,BorgWarner dont gave to the public.
I need the compressor maps for the following turbos;
GTB2056vk, GTB2260vk, GT2560/59v, GT17/20, GT2056v(this is a common hybrid turbo), Borg Warner BV50.
I can put in here the ones i have, i already have Gt2260v and Gt2359v (this two Garrett didn't gave to the public so it could be calculated by some "guy"... :lol: )
I read in some forum that this problem could be "rounded" by looking at the compressor maps of similar turbos;
For ex: looking at Garrett GT2259 compressor map and use the same values to GT2260v as the compressor is similar.
The question in this last subject is, if diesel turbos are VNT or VGT (Borg Warner) the way that they spool is different from normal Gt's right???
And as they are a little weak on build (because of the VNT) they should not be stretch on boost for so long, right?
In my country this problem is solved by Turbo Builders rating their turbos like ("this GTBXXX can do "2,5bar" constant") and we (the costumers) put the turbo doing 2,5Bar from 2500-5000rpm. 8-)
I see a lot of turbos working like that (A LOT) but i only feel safe to do it with Gt2260v because i have the compressor map and know that from 2000rpm i can do at least 1,6Bar of boost constant.
Hope that the answer is in here.
Thanks guys!
