Newbie asking help for ECM Titanium + WinOLS with BMW MS43

I'm not going to lie, I'm new to this.. I've been testing with ECM Titanium and would like to also learn WinOLS, but I find looking for the maps and knowing what your looking for is really hard. I understand this comes with years but is their a good guide of such that helps show "what" certain maps look like. I've been searching for a while now and have just found this site, so I'm reading as much information that I can soak up.

Right now I'm presently using ECM Titanium and a KessV2, I've downloaded WinOLS with loads of damos files, just I've never looked at views with hex and I'm not that great with 2D being I have nothing much to compare with.

My test mule is a 2005 E46 325xi MS43. I've tried using some comparisons to use WinOLS, just all I could find are Bosch maps which don't seem to match the same x/y axis definitions Siemens uses...does anyone have a normal level 1 tune for MS43 that I can use to compare and test with..if thiers a defintion explained as to "why" such values were done would be grea..Hehe, think I could only pray for that one!!

I'm really just putting in the hours to learn this just like anyone else, so if anyone can give any help..website,guides, pdf's..etc that you could recommend, that would be most helpful!!

So you haven´t quite searched on here i guess? ;) Otherwise you would have found the easiest and cheapest solution ;)

Simply search this forum for MS43 and you´ll find everything you need to know.

Ignore ECM, download free program TunerPro and free XDF mappack for MS43.

Thank you. But I'm just using the E46 as my test mule to understand how to navigate through WinOLS and ECM Titanium. I could use TunerPRO with XDF maps, just that won't help me when I get a VAG branded vehicle or something totally different like an Aston Martin...I would then have to try and source the maps or drivers for that vehicle to run on TunerPRO, which then I'll be back in the same situation of not understanding how the maps look and how to spot them out in no maps/drivers are availible

Oh, I've been searching..presently now on this forum, loads of great info on this site. I've noticed though there isn't much info unless using TunerPRO for a E46 MS43.

Maybe I have yet to input the perfect search words but I've noticed most of the E46 questions are mainly diesel related which if I remember is on Bosch, I've found loads of information on Bosch but Siemens is not so popular for information being spread.

I would really like to learn WinOLS and/or Titanium..basically looking to learn how I can detect maps/table with no drivers or damos files..just I can't find anything that shows for ex: what MAF map looks like, or a torque limiter, Throttle pedal angle, ..etc..all on a Siemens. And how to understand the different X/Y axis on Siemens compared to Bosch..

Well, its pretty simple. Unless you get your hands on a a2l/damos file, you have no chance to find constants, not even maps.

Comparing Siemens to VAG is a totally different story, as VAG mostly uses Bosch ecus and Siemens is siemens. Both software is totally different.

If you want to tune VAG, start with VAG. If you want to tune Siemens MS43/MS42, use TunerPro.

Description files are available for almost every engine, its just a matter of money if they aren´t released public.

I understand completely.. These "Description Files"..is there a good place/site to find or even purchase them?

Just google for damos + the ecu type you are interested in. Damos files can be purchased if you have a valid WinOLS version, which you probably don´t have?!
