206 2.0 90 HDI - IQ Limit?

Postby bananarama » Tue Nov 10, 2015 3:58 am

Hi all,

Been tuning a Peugeot 206 HDI 90 - 0281011188 364378 (peugeot-206-hdi-2-0-rhy-90bhp-2003-0281011188-1037364378-t5395) with very tidy FMIC installation, 2.5" stainless exhaust, decat, no EGR (in software and blanked),

Very odd thing happening, had it on a dyno with Peugeot Planet/Lexia logging, there appears to be some IQ limit, but it isn't reported by PPS at all, PPS/Lexia reports exactly the same peak IQ. The actual limit would appear to be around the 70-75mm3 mark by my calculation. Absolutely zero smoke, even at 85mm3 request, pah.

My results are at the moment:

67mm3 - 120hp/4165rpm 212ft-lb/2524rpm (TQ limit was bad shape for very quick testing)
75mm3 - 132hp/3732rpm 227ft-lb/2552rpm
82mm3 - 134hp/3693rpm 235ft-lb/2469rpm
85mm3 - 131hp/3612rpm 237ft-lb/2501rpm (Very high, but just to check)

Ran out of time on dyno before I could do any more, car drives very nice with requested 75mm3 - but not that powerful.

All 4 fuel temperature limiters adjusted, MAF adjusted, SOI adjusted, DWs up to 88mm3 pedal request, I have performed same mods on other EDC15C2s and not had this issue, or at least PPS has reported the IQ correctly when it reaches a limit?

Most interesting is I have tried two stock 2.0 577kg/h MAF meter units which reads correctly up to about 1100mg/str then suddenly registers a fault when the airflow gets too high (not surprising - the sensor is way out of range) - at least PPS jumps and reports it as 878mg/str which corresponds with the MAF fault map. I then decided to try a 750kg/h unit (off a 2.2 HDi) we had kicking about, which reads fine now and there's no sudden jump to the default value as specified by the MAF fault map. Also tried unplugging the MAF, to no avail either - thinking there might be a limit for if the airflow goes too high for if a boost hose falls off with a timer?

Anyone know of any other maps that would limit fuel quantity and cause PPS to read falsely? Checked the 15x1 in-gear TQs, all set at 100mm3 and been through the file MANY times looking for obvious maps, but not succeeded yet.

Thanks

Dan
