Overwriting a Revo Map

Postby v3trox » Thu Dec 17, 2015 11:27 pm

Hi guys.

My partners car had already been mapped by the previous owner. The map has been causing some issues so i decided to read it and take a look at it. After refusing to read via obd (genuine kess master) the car is now underpowered. Wont boost past 0.3bar and really sluggish with no error codes.

After some digging it looks like it might have a revo map that has triggered this. My plan to overcome this is to simply write an original map back to the car. Does anyone know if this will cause a problem or is even possible?

As you found out directly, with a REVO map on the car you need to restore an ori file for that HW/SW

I believe both Revo and APR scramble some kind of headers to prevent a normal OBD read.

Does this mean its possible to read on the bench?

Yes they can always Be Read on a Bench if me7.x.x bootmode Pin 24 if MED9 BDM and MED17 Tricore bootmode/Bdm

They Change Seed Keys And Jump Routines 9/10 they only change READ you can normally always Flash Stock Over Providing you have a Full Ori Read and Start Fresh.
Best way IMHO.

Its a right pain when this happens.

9/10 flashing a stock file with the same ECU ID should over write what ever is on the ECU taking it back to a standard car.
