Postby anone » Mon Dec 28, 2015 2:02 am

Hello from Finland,

I am engineering student, 23 years old by now.

Interested in electronics, cars, etc.

Driving Volvo 945 TDI, swapped '98 S70 TDI engine some time ago. (2,5L Audi diesel, vag engine code AEL)

Has an MSA15.7 ECU in it.

My topic about the car, unfortunately in Finnish only.

Hoping I learn more about ECUs, and chips generally.

Well, doing some progress here.

Ordered some eeproms from ebay, and a prommer. De-soldered e(e?)proms from ECU, and now have read them on my laptop which has WinOLS.

Just cannot find any maps!

Before I got my prommer from ebay, I trained finding maps with WinOLS and some .BIN I found from the internet. There WinOLS could automatically detect about 30 maps, and from those I could easily find Drivers Wish map, Smoke Limiter etc.

But now there is none.

My ECU is MSA15.7, and there is two 29F010 eproms in it. I have no idea, which is LLL and which is HHH?

For example here http://www.chippedire.com/download/msa15.jpg you can see those eproms, sockets soldered. I just identified them by 'inner' and 'outer'.

I've read this text somewhere:

These eproms must be imported into two separate WinOLS projects and not both together into one project using "16 bit in two 8 bit eproms".

Tried to import them to two separate projects as told, and both to same project, with no luck.

And also there is a lot of other things I need to find out, like using checksums. Someone familiar with MSA15/15.7, your help is appreciated!
