My name is Jeff, I am a race fabricator in northern California.
I have recently installed a complete drivetrain and suspension from a mk5 vw jetta tdi into a mk2 vw gti rally car.
Naturally there are complications in making everything work, so I am hoping to learn how to find solutions here.

So here's the problem :
I have installed the mk5 1.9 pd engine with it's ecu and most of the mk5 chassis harness minus all the other controllers. Currently the ecu is giving me codes regarding missing confirmation messages (via the can bus) from the other controllers and is going into limp mode once driven at high speed.
My question is: can the ecu be programmed to function independently of the other controllers, i.e.: can it be told to ignore the can bus?

I'm hoping someone here knows how to help us as we have a rally coming up soon and this will not work as is.
