Rather, Help my XDF!

Postby Mykk » Sat Nov 19, 2016 3:08 pm

1995 BMW 540i/6. 404DME. Ostrich 2.0. 0261200404-1267357689.bin from TunerPro.net

The available 404.xdf found online is far from complete so instead by using ECUconnections XDFcreator I was able to find several different maps and have been working to decipher each of their functions ever since. Unfortunately the 404dme M60 isn't a very supported format and I ended up using 413 values in the XDFcreator to find 404 maps. But it yielded results and I ran with it.

Mixing a few tables from the readily available XDF as well as best estimated guesses I've been able to identify and utilize several tables. I just mounted my tablet in the vehicle and intend to continue to verify under what operating conditions the DME uses each table by cell hit tracing, once driving condition is noted it should help with table function identification. I've already noted the idle tables, and of course those are not to say several aren't also used during Part Throttle, WOT and Overrun.

I haven't focused on labeling X & Y axis yet, I've only added the X*0.75-45 calc to the ignition tables and suspected ignition tables.

I've also used WinOLS to try to see if it would recognize any maps that XDFcreator hadn't, it didn't. Perhaps you would recognize some of my mystery maps in the xdf, or correct me on one's I've mistaken? Help expedite this process. Cheers and Thank you!
