Old Bosch EDC

Postby rmtab » Thu Jan 10, 2013 9:36 pm

Hi guys!

Is there anyone who have remapped or have had to do with it the old Bosch EDC 1.2.3/1.3.1 found in for example old BMW:s?

I wonder if it is even worth spending time on trying to remap theese?

Do you have to remove the EPROM and use a reader, or how do you do whith theese old?

Thanks // Chris

There are a lot of BMW models so tell us the year of production, what car is it, what engine is in it and what numbers are written on the ECU.

Yes...

In this case it is a BMW 525tds -94 the Bosch number on the ECU is 0 281 001 183.

Are those second numbers on the ECU interesting?

The ECU is bosch MSA11.

Post the pick from inside the ECU like the one in the picture.

The 2 chips with stickers are the ones that had to be removed to be tuned. The numbers on the stickers are the ECU sw numbers.

To read the chips you will need a eprom programer

Ok.

There is already someone who reprogrammed the chips, so they are no original labels left ...

Are theese numbers necessary?

Do you know any simple inexpensive programmer enough to do the job?

You need WinOls for looking at the maps. The map pack is written specially for a specific software, so must post the software that are you working on.
