you need to first unlock eobd reading/writing. there are several tools that can do it but not of them are cheap

And what are they? Do you unlock the software or do you have to be another soft?

you don't unlock the software. you unlock eobd reading and writing to be able to read and write the file. most common is kess & ktag

do you know how to unlock? i`m trying to unlock a edc16c64 for long time, but the only result is :
i know now how and where to boot the infinion tricore 1797, that had took month.... and the only answer i got from this f...... ecu is:
"it is not allowed to read/write " -over and out..... done with kessV2 tricore mode.
somtimes i would like to hammer it :lol:

with Ktag you have to unlock, there are options.
