Hello all fellow newbie here, I've noticed that there is 6 pages so far of basically the same request yet no one has attempted to guide any one of us in the right directions, apart from three of our very own (newbies) showing us things they found have helped them.

I ask the same as you all. I would like to know a source of information where I can learn exactly what we want to work with, i.e differences in edc15p and v and other things of the sort what hardware and software should be purchased if your init for the long haul, what to read where to learn what.
I reach out to those standing firmly on their 2 feet in this area, Sometimes having info that others want empowers you over them and secures your position, Put the truth is give and you will receive innovation comes from the sharing of knowledge.

Thank you

you see the problem is that there are so many guys out there that want everything on a plate. so once you give all that info they will just download it. i really do not mind helping someone that really want's to learn, but i don't even reply to a guy if i see that he just wants everything on a plate. i think they should created a locked section for guys that really make an effort to learn so you can separate them from the guys that just want's everything on a plate.

The problem i see with ecu tuning is that everybody wants to learn some much-others not so much, but there is the factor of money.
For example i just need someone to tell me which tools(clones) work well in which cars so i can slowly start cause i cannot afford expensive cables like the kess v2 master..and would not like to brick a friends ecu etc
There should be some info like buy this and this and that and then let us get our own experience
anyway im glad some people help in this forum with damos files etc

vagecumap is a must watch material for beginners.

I appreciate his time and effort putting basics of remapping into videos.

You may find it here:

Another suggestion - after watching videos above is to download Winols demo and try to find maps.
I have used this thread to download original and modified maps and play with them on demo version:

Hope this will help.
