TunerPro XDF file

Software used for ECU editing

TunerPro XDF file

Postby baba » Mon Jan 28, 2013 1:06 pm

I found a Software called TunerPro. It seems to allow editing various Parameters, showing maps, etc. Does someone know that Software? Can someone tell me, what's that XDF file for? Is it a file that describes on which adresses the maps are (just a guess)...?

You have two files.
the bin file downloaded from the ecu.
the xdf file which is a template that looks up values at addresses you select and displays them in a way that you decide.
YOU create the xdf unless one has been spcifically made to work with your bin by someone else.
I have sample xdf in bin form my car in the xdf section if you want to have a nose.
The xdf holds all the paramaters....

...tunerpro does nothing without one.

Thanks ;-)
That makes life much easier if you have an XDF, than to find the maps with winOLS, doesn't it?

If you can find someone who has written an xdf for your ecu.
[Mine obviously would be no good for yours as the bin file is completely different]
Otherwise you have to find all the maps in winols....find what thye do, what they are, and what all the units are.....then add a parameter for each table using that info you get from winols or similar...save the new parameters (new xdf file)

Takes a long time....but once it is done then yes its better than winols.
But it does not do checksum correction.
So you need a cable that does checksum on write or software that will do the checksum.

Best idea is to find a winols damos for you specific ecu.
This will give and identify all the map location, meanings and axes values.
You can then use the info to create your own xdf.
You should then modify a copy of your bin file with tunerpro and open it in winols....make sure it done what you expected it to do.
Wouldnt want to inject 500mg of fuel instead of 50....would be bad ;)

You can load the map you are working on...saved as temp or something.
Then you can load upto 4 compare bins (eg the OEM map).
When you open a map/table....next to the chart button is the show compare and show differnce buttons.

With a compare bin loaded.
You can then select a load of boxes and hit...copy from compare.
It will then fill your table with the corresponding values in the compare bin.

If you enter 60 into the text box next to the buttons.
Then select a load of cells.
If you hit ....fill with value.
60 will be entered into all the boxes you selected.
