Help with SOI and Duration

Postby MothaHDI » Tue Feb 27, 2018 12:07 am

Hi! So i remaped my car to a stage 1 but now i want to learn how to calibrate the injectors for a stage 2, but unfortunately i cant find anything online to learn :cry:
Can anyone post here threads / links / files / etc. to help me ?

Things i know:
-I know the theory of SOI and Duration but i dont have experience so i'm afraid of doing bad things ; :cry:
-Do i need a dyno? I can rent one;

-I'm going to change rail pressure to 1450bar, so i know the end of injection is affected. (Currently using EOI Builder);
-Max IQ is 70mm3 , but the SOI axis only goes to 55mm3, Going for 80/85mm3 for stage 2;

Car: PUG 406 2.0 HDI RHY (currently 120hp with default injector calibration), non IC (temporary).

Have you looked at a 110 file to see how the pro's do it? I've not tried the EOI builder yet but I'd imagine if you rescale the axis and put your new data into the builder it will tell you the new EOI. You could then adjust rail pressure to get it back to stockish values or adjust SOI.

Thx for the answer! I have compared the maps and they are exactly the same (if the maps selected are correct);

So whats the goal with EOI, stay the same as stock right? I have seen some files, but i never understood why they make thoose changes.

Do you use any app to help you calculate EOI?

Calculating duration map from microseconds to deegres of crankshaft rotation : mS / [((60/ RPM)/360)x10^6]
Then simpl calculate EOI = SOI - duration (in cr deegres)

Not sure if you have seen this page but it's what you're looking for :) eoi-builder-t1441

A later EOI will increase EGT so I'd imagine stock is safe. The 110/90 files I've looked at are different for SOI maps and SOI limiter.

Actually (too) early SOI is more dangerous because it increases combustion pressure
