Retired hobbyist. Former engineer / programmer of 40+ years (yes since late 60's) at three different auto manufacturers working on ECU development since the early 80's. Present hobby is tuning for my late model German diesel ECU cars - (Bosch EDC16 / EDC17). Test environment includes MPC566 Freescale development board, Infineon Tri-Core development board, associated licensed software, and both engine and chassis dynamometers (yes - really).

This is primarily a time-passing hobby for me which I try out on my own vehicles - and yes, I've pulled the engines to run on a dyno - it only takes a few hours.

Like everyone else, I'm forced to reverse engineer things. My only advantage is I have some prior knowledge of the kinds of maps and offsets that are commonly used in the industry. While I have no access to manufacturer maps, I may still have an advantage at guessing something new.

If I find something, I'll post it. And whatever I learn from this site, I humbly appreciate the info.
