Weird issue with MPPS

Postby redfish0 » Mon Feb 01, 2021 1:18 am

Hi.

I've got a seat toledo with a pd150 in it. When reading with MPPS it kept failing at random points during the read with "an error has occurred, please go to c:blaablaablaa".

Just could not get past it. My voltage was 13.2 and the charger connected to the car ok. However it worked faultlessly when I put some load on by switching the lights on and getting the voltage to 12.6. Is this normal or anything to be concerned about?

Hi,

It's possible it's some kind of circuit protection for overload and/or reverse voltage.

When I worked with on-board power supplies, some PCB components may not be within tolerance due to many factors like environment or manufacturing issues/defects.

I am curious, too! Hope you find the issue!

Kind Regards,
