So I've got a demo, but want to go for buying the software, I can find a winols5 new user version for €800 exc vat, but not sure if it has much less features than a full version (yet to find one) only full version I could find is the winols4 for €1200, for starting off will I regret buying the new user version? Or is it benificial

A basic WinOLS will contain only the program, you will be missing a lot and need to understand that the program wil cost you a lot more than that.
If you want to import damos to your maps thats 600 Euro more.
If you want to translate German damos to English thats 300 Euro more.
So you need to understand that you need to spend more than 800 Euro to get a usable WinOLS license up and going.

If you dont want to use the rest of your life searching for maps look around before you decide.

That WinOLS cant open a EDC 15 map and give you all the maps and mark the maps correct for you is a sign that WinOLS is slowing down and are a program from the past.
There is now a lot of programs that you can import your map and it gives you all the maps you need with the correct factors and axis.
Then you can spend your time tuning not searching for maps and axis like in WinOLS.

Here is a list of extras/plugins you need to buy on the standard WinOLS License.
