Good morning to all members,
As I am a bit confused if I should proceed further on tuning or leave it as it is,so please accept my apologies for asking too much!
To explain further , the vehicle is PEUGEOT 306 GTI/S16 , engine XU10J4RS-RFS,1998cc , with ECU IAW 1AP.10
Everything standard except the catalytic converter (200cpi) and the rest of the exhaust system that has been replaced with a sport alternative (after the exhaust manifold).
Due to injector failure I had to replace them and since the OEM one were not available I used an aftermarket solution from BOSCH (fitted to an other PSA model), as the best alternative in terms of simiar injector data.
306 GTI/S16 cc/min 265 cc 3 Bar , grams/min 190,5 , Resistance 16 ohm High Impedance
206 RC cc/min 273 cc 3 Bar , grams/min 187 , Resistance 14,5 ohm High Impedance
Main question is if the ECU should be remapped? Is it possible that these injectors of 206 could make a damage to the engine on the long term of usage? The engine is working properly with these injectors till now and as the cc difference is minor I believe that there would not be a problem.
Currently the ECU of the vehicle has the original OEM setup , so I would like to ask if it is worth to tune this ECU , mainly I am not interested to increase horsepower but improve the fuel consumption especially on low rpm will driving in city limits etch.It could be possible that an interference in ignition map would improve the fuel usage to some point (not expecting huge improvement for syre)? In general this ECU is running with rich mixture from the factory settings and I am afraid that there are is not enough "margin" to modify the AFR by decreasing fuel supply without concequenses!
Does anybody have an experience with this ECU Marelli IAW 1AP.10 ?
Thanks in advance and apologies for the huge text!
